Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL (Full Container Load): you rent an entire container for your cargo only. Ideal if you have more than 15 mยณ. LCL (Less than Container Load): your cargo is consolidated with others in a shared container. More economical for small volumes (1-15 mยณ).
How long does sea transit take?
Transit times vary by origin: Europe (7-12 days), Asia (25-35 days), Americas (15-25 days). Add 3-5 days for port operations and customs clearance to these sailing times.
What is a Bill of Lading (B/L)?
The Bill of Lading is the key document in ocean freight. It serves as a receipt for the goods, contract of carriage and document of title. You'll need it to collect your cargo at destination and complete customs clearance.
Should I insure my cargo?
Highly recommended. Carrier liability is limited (approximately $2/kg). An "all risks" insurance covers damage, loss and theft throughout transport. The cost is typically 0.3% to 0.5% of cargo value.
How can I track my container?
Each container has a unique number. You can track its position in real-time on carrier websites (MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM...) or via our tracking service. We keep you informed at every key stage.
