Create your import commitment or import title according to the nature of your goods. This document authorizes the import operation.

Answers to the most common questions about customs clearance in Morocco.

The timeline depends on the inspection channel assigned by the BADR system. In the green channel (automated documentary control), clearance can be done in 2 to 4 hours. In the orange channel (in-depth documentary control), expect 24 hours. In the red channel (physical inspection), the timeline can reach 48 hours or more depending on inspector availability.

Customs duties are calculated on the CIF value (Cost + Insurance + Freight). The formula is: CIF Value × Duty Rate (according to HS code). Then, import VAT (20%) is calculated on the base: CIF Value + Customs Duties. Some products are subject to Internal Consumption Tax (ICT). Contact us for an accurate simulation.

The HS code (Harmonized System) is a 10-digit code that precisely identifies each product to determine applicable duties. It consists of: 6 international digits + 4 national digits. To find the right code, you can consult the customs tariff on the ADII website or entrust us with this task. Wrong classification can lead to penalties.

Legally, yes, if you are a customs-approved company with a BADR account. However, without expertise, you risk classification errors, delays and penalties. A professional customs broker knows the procedures, optimizes costs and speeds up clearance. For individuals, using a broker is mandatory.

Morocco has signed numerous FTAs allowing duty reductions or exemptions: EU (EUR.1/EUR-MED), USA (FTA), Turkey, Arab Countries (GAFTA), Africa (AfCFTA), EFTA (Switzerland, Norway...). To benefit, you must present a certificate of origin proving the goods meet the agreement's rules of origin.
